The translated Danish version of the Western Ontario Meniscal Evaluation Tool (WOMET) is reliable and responsive

The purpose of this study was to translate and cross-culturally adapt the Western Ontario Meniscal Evaluation Tool (WOMET) for use in Denmark evaluate its test–retest reliability comparative responsiveness. Sixty patients (mean age 50 years (range 19–71 years), females 57%) with meniscal injury scheduled arthroscopic surgery at a small Danish hospital period from September 2017 February 2018 were included study. WOMET translated into using forward backward translation. completed baseline (pre-surgery), 3 6 months postoperatively. Additionally, assessed plus 1 week, stable symptom state (global response question) between test retest. Comparative responsiveness Knee Injury Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS4—aggregate score 4 5 KOOS subscales). version showed excellent reliability, intraclass correlation coefficient 0.88 (95% CI 0.84–0.92) total score. standard error measurement 125 points minimal detectable change 347 (i.e. 8% 22% score, respectively). responsive an effect size (ES) 1.12 after surgery, which comparable KOOS4 (ES 1.10). is reliable measure health-related quality life pathology.
